[video 16:9, color, sound, 2’40’’] From the “Veredas” [paths] series of works.
In the video we see a pilgrimage of a shepherd [herdsman] and its flock in an annual old ritual where its abilities to control the flock are challenged. There, the shepherds had to make the flock to follow them running around a chapel until the first sheep founds the last sheep. Once that happens, since the sheep are by nature a gregarious animal, each one follows the other that is in front of it endless. An endless circle of motion is formed. Without a stop the flock runs till the exhaustion and death, so the shepherds must be able to stop the flock and break the cycle. This way they will be able to form the endless motion circle next year and so on.
